our story

The Town Council of Lake Cowichan commissioned an Age Friendly report about the town.  It revealed a need for housing for the elderly.  In 2016 a steering committee of local citizens was formed to address the need.  The committee became an incorporated Society August 17, 2018 and a registered Charity June 30, 2021.  During that time the Town donated two vacant lots and our Society was on its way to build Lakewood Manor.
